Spring term saw the start of our Read Write Inc phonics sessions and our early reading and writing skills are really progressing. Like the older children in school, we have been basing our learning on some of our favourite books. This term ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ formed some great learning experiences in number as we had to count and order the underpants that they left for us! More recently, we also enjoyed our very first trip when we went to the Jubilee Hall in West Rainton to see a performance of ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’. Our two-year-olds even did their very first performance as part of the school’s dance festival when they sang and danced to ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ in front of over one hundred family members.
We have loved taking part in a range of experiences this term. It has been so exciting; not a week has gone by without something amazing happening and we’ve experienced lots of magical moments. World Book Day, Chinese New Year, Easter, Red Nose Day and chick-hatching have been just some of the brilliant things we’ve experienced this term.
