I have recently been to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the home of the world’s most famous writer, William Shakespeare. I went to see the house where he was born, the church he is buried in and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre where his plays are performed. While I was there I went to see Hamlet which is a scary play about ghosts and revenge!
Swimming Lessons
It has been great learning to swim with year 3. We went on the bus to Freeman’s Quay in Durham and got changed quickly and sensibly. I got my confidence with front crawl and backstroke and now I’m away! I loved the game where we blew balls across the water in a race too!
Pedestrian Training
I have been busy this week brushing up my road safety skills with year 3. They are pedestrian training at the moment to cross roads safely. We made sure we found safe places to go and and looked and listened carefully for traffic.
Pounds for Pudsey
It was great to be part of the fundraising events that went on last Friday to collect a whole heap of cash for Children in Need. I got to spend some time with my good friend Pudsey and wore my new top as I paid my pound to wear non-uniform! There were so many delicious treats on offer I didn’t know which to choose! It was great to see Y6 welcome so many guests into our coffee morning and I know everyone had a great time.
We Will Remember Them
I wore my poppy with pride this week along with everyone else in school to show we all remember together what our soldiers have given up so that we can live free and safe lives. I found out that we wear a poppy because these flowers grow in the fields in France where World War 1 took place.
Adventure Bear’s Half Term Trip to Northern Ireland
I have just got back from a fantastic holiday in the city of Belfast in Northern Ireland. I stayed in the Titanic quarter of the city. Did you know the world-famous ship was built, along with her two sisters ‘Olympic’ and ‘Britannic’ right there in Belfast? While in County Antrim I also had to see Giant’s Causeway which is a vast and strange rock formation and home to a legendary giant named Finn MacCool. I was also brave enough to walk the Carrick-a-Rede ropebridge which is 30m high!
