Welcome to Year 6
‘Learning who you are is what you are here to do.’ Wonder by R.J.Palacio
For us, Year 6 is the final opportunity to learn as much about yourself, as a learner, as you can before heading off on your next steps. Our teacher, Mr McDonough, likes to work hard and make learning enjoyable. He likes Year 6 pupils to be responsible and take a big role in improving their own learning, able to make independent choices that maximise their learning potential.
In preparation for secondary education, it is important that Y6 pupils keep up with homework and reading, showing good organisational skills and a keen attitude to learning.
In Year 6 we have lots of work to do to prepare us for the next step of our journey. Whilst our SATs are very important, we value the impact of a full and broad curriculum on the shaping of who we are as people. Being part of class 6 is great because we get lots of additional responsibilities around the school. Let’s make 2023-24 academic year a great one!
