We love a competition here at West Rainton Primary School. This summer we have our annual athletics tournament, our mini Wimbledon event and a family sports’ afternoon to look forward to as well as sports’ day.
To end our games units this summer half term we have carried out tournaments right across the school. In EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 the pupils are taking part in accuracy and aim events to end their throwing and catching skills unit.
Pupils in Years 3 and 4 have spent the term learning the rules and tactics of rounders and ended the unit with a house competition. Kepier came out as eventual winners.
In Years 5 and 6, the half term ended with a competitive tag rugby tournament. Pupils told us how much they have loved learning the rules and mastering the skills of rugby. Well done to Moorhouse who won the final.
