in October 2017, the pupils of West Rainton did their bit to contribute to the community’s ‘Pride in Our Village Day’ by thinking about our social responsibility for where we live. We had a special assembly led by the civic pride team at Durham County Council to discuss litter. Tidy Ted came along too and he was delighted with the responses made by our children. He knows he does not need to worry about any of us causing any litter issues.
Eco-Council also took on an added responsibility and joined the team at St Mary’s Church to plant hundreds of bulbs ready for springtime. Crocuses and mini daffodils will make a colourful display next year and we can’t wait to return to see our work burst into bloom.
